New Zealand Earthquake June 2011


New Zealand Earthquake June 2011 have rocked New Zealand, Christchurch in particular. The city has seen thousands of aftershocks since a powerful 6.3 earthquake caused widespread damage a few months ago. And earlier today, two powerful quakes hit Christchurch again sending people to the streets in panic.A powerful 5.2-magnitude earthquake was felt at around lunchtime today. About an hour later, a 6.0 was recorded, according to the US Geological Survey. With the memory of February 22 still fresh in New Zealanders’ minds, fear gripped the people of Christchurch again. Luckily, only a few injuries were reported.A building collapsed but, luckily, no one was inside. A church damaged in February was further destroyed today trapping two men who were trying to salvage some of the church’s windows. Others were hit by falling debris around the city.
