Anorexia

AnorexiaOne of my childhood friends was diagnosed with anorexia nervosa a couple months ago. She was in counseling, and now she's in a treatment facility. I was just wondering what some causes of anorexia are. She wasn't overweight before, and she's always been on the slim side. if it helps, she's 19 and was in her freshman year of college. Thanks for your answers. Over acheivers
poor self esteem

little control of their lives One of the main causes is attraction, the victims believe the world revolves around being thin, so they starve themselves to look the way they want, but they never stop unless they have help, although they think their fat their actually disgustingly thin and very unhealthy. Due to the fact that our society is greatly influenced by the media, it is no question that the media influences eating disorders, as well. many girls look up to celebrities and want to look like them, although most of them have eating disorders and are underweight. when girls see actresses on tv and models in magazines, they are surrounded by the media all the time and want to be thin like them -poor self esteem
-low confidence
