baba ramdev


Despite CBI's notice asking Baba Ramdev's aide Balkrishna to appear before CBI, Dehradun branch, on Thursday for questioning about his passport and documents he had attached while applying for it way back in 1998 at Bareilly Passport office. Acharya Balkrishan, a General Secretary of Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust at Haridwar, on today ignored the notice by declining to make physical appearance before it.Acharya Balkrishan expressed his inability to present himself before CBI on ground that since he had attached his passport in UK Embassy to apply for his visa a couple of days ago, he will be able to get it back only after 20 days.


He also urged the CBI to give him a fresh date for appearance before CBI bench after 20 days. Balkrishan expressed his inability to this effect in a letter faxed to CBI office while responding to CBI notice issued to him on Monday(July 24). Sources in Dehradun CBI office said officials received 13-line letter written in Hindi more than one hour after the stipulated time for appearance before the office. Prior to that CBI officials were apparently waiting for his appearance with the hope that Balkrishan will not honour the notice.A senior CBI official said strict action may be taken against again him if he failed to appear before CBI.
