It's been more than a month since that first "Conan the Barbarian" teaser popped up online, offering us our first glimpse at director Marcus Nispel's reinvention of Robert E. Howard's sword-swinging warrior. However, fans received a much more comprehensive preview of the film today, thanks to a new trailer.
Starring Jason Momoa as Conan, the new movie aims to reboot and reinvent the character's big-screen presence for a new generation — and if this first trailer posted at Yahoo Movies is any indication, things look like they're off to a good start.
Just last week, MTV News spoke to Momoa about his take on Conan, the orphaned barbarian who carves a bloody path across the fictional land of Hyboria. Calling the film "a revenge story," Momoa said he went straight to the source material for inspiration.
He also confessed that he's never seen the Arnold Schwarzenegger "Conan" movies.
"I haven't actually seen the Arnold stuff," he admitted. "I'm excited to see it. I was three years old when it came out…I can't wait to see it. I want to see mine and then I'm going to watch that one, back to back."
